If you missed out on our Third Annual
Ferret Frolic, then you probably missed out on a lot of fun!
The ferrets had the most fun, with the competitions being a bit tough,
we did have a tube race winner, and longest/shortest tail winners,
along with heaviest and lightest! No one seem to have won the
digbox competition, while everyone played in the dig box, the object
was for the first ferret to get a toy out, this did not happen.
Personally,
I feel all ferrets are winners, and they all deserve a prize.
Lots of extra ferretone and some snuggles and kisses from their hoomans.
Of
course we had to have hooman games too! This one was "Put the
ferret in the litter box". Kind of like pin the tail on the
donkey, but you put the ferret in the box. Winner won a bag
of litter.
To the left, we're weighing our competitive ferrets in
to see who won lightest and heaviest. To the right, Char with
her ferret Shadow, who came in heaviest at 4.1 lbs. And to the
far right, Robert with Missing who came in lightest at 1.04 lbs.
The digging
constest was not won, as no ferret picked out a toy, however, they
did all play in the dig box, and they seemed to have a great time,
guess they didn't know the winning ferret would get to take their
dig box home
Measuring
tails was fun, the rules were all the way to the tip of the hair for
the fairest length. Above, Char's Amelia won shortest tail at
6", to the left, was Macchy, who won longest tail at 7.5" To
the far left, is our volunteer, measuring the fuzzies tails.
The winner of our tube races is
my very own Lacy, who had to compete against some of her own friends.
Some fuzzies had so much, they wanted to run back through, and others
seemed to get lost in the tubes. At the end, one was very thirsty.
Our guest speaker this year was Bob Church, who drove
a very long ways just to speak at our frolic. Unfortunately,
we ran short on time, and he didn't get to cover everything he wanted,
but he did get the his lecture on teeth out. We learned that
kibble is very hard on our furry pets teeth, and we should consider
alternative diets, as teeth can be a major contributor to a lot of
ferrets health problems. We also got a quick lesson on how to
brush our ferrets teeth.
The
Raffles
& Door Prizes
This year
we offered 9 great door prizes and one final grand prize raffle.
The winner of the grand raffle was picked by Bob Church.
Silent Auctions & Stuff for Sale
I was very bummed I didn't win our silent auction,
we had a very nice quilt being auctioned off. Laura Birch fabric,
donated by Ardith.
